The Midsouth Annual Trauma and Addiction Conference aims to provide mental health professionals with insights into trauma and addiction recovery. Attendees will learn about psychological trauma, skills for behavior change, and conditions for healing trauma in women with addiction. The conference will also cover topics like Reward Deficiency Syndrome and the intersection of the D2 Dopamine Receptor with addictions and mental illnesses. Participants will gain knowledge on dissociation, attachment wounds, and therapeutic interventions.
The agenda includes sessions on identifying symptoms and assessment tools for dissociative disorders, understanding the neurobiology of dissociation, and exploring therapeutic skills for working with dissociative clients. The conference will also address mental health assessments for first responders and evidence-based interventions for trauma-related responses.
The conference offers six and a half (6.5) continuing education credits approved by NBCC and NASW-TN.
